HOW OUR PICKS WORK
Picks come from our own power numbers for every Division I team: last season's results, who is back and who left, transfers and freshmen, then this season's games as they come in, plus injuries and home court. When our number and the betting line are far enough apart, we take the side our number likes. Input quality (0-100) is how settled the inputs are (early-season ratings, a missing line, a questionable star and a neutral floor all lower it). It is not a win chance. A pick is a top pick only when its input quality reaches 80 — real game results behind both teams' ratings, a posted line and no big injury question marks — up to four a day, and early in the season some days none qualify. The line is locked in when a pick is posted, and the pick is graded against that number, not the closing line.
