Notable Betting Trends:

  • Mets are 0-4 in their last 4 vs National League Central opponents
  • Mets are 1-11 in the last 12 meetings in Milwaukee
  • Under is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Milwaukee

The New York Mets have had a disappointing season. They are posting a 73-79 record and are positioned 3rd in the NL east. This is in part due to injuries, most notable ace Jacob DeGrom who was having an MVP season, but also due to a lack off firepower. Their recent form is not much better, posting a 1-4 in their last 5 games despite batting .267. The real story here has been pitching with their starting pitchers averaging a 6.35 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over their last 5 games.

Starting this game is right hander Tylor Megill who was dominate in July (1.04 ERA) but has struggled as of late. He posted a 6.44 ERA in August and 6.75 ERA in September.

Milwaukee on the other hand is coming into this matchup on a 4-game skid. Batting just .246 in their last 5 games, they will look to turn things around against Megill. The Brewers have one of the deepest rotations in baseball so being able to hold off the Mets is no issue. Starting for the Brewers is left hander Eric Lauer, who is posting a 3.03 ERA and 1.14 WHIP. In the month of September however, Lauer has been dominating with a 1.09 ERA in 24.2 innings, this is all while only allowing 11 hits to 89 batters.

The Mets struggle even more against left-handed pitching ranking 19th in batting average and 25th in OPS. Milwaukee will want to dominate this game and turn things around once more. Take the better pitching, better offense, and the hungry home team in this one

Pick: Milwaukee Brewers ML
