Green Bay Packers vs Cincinnati Bengals Prediction, Betting Tips and Breakdown

It feels like we are months removed from the fact that Green Bay started off their season with a blowout loss to the now miserable Saints, but here we are, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are 3-1 going up against the progressing 3-1 Bengals in which they are only -3 favourites. Is Vegas adjusting to the new look Bengals or are the Packers really on the downhill slide? Let’s find out.

The concerns about Aaron Rodgers “motivation” can now officially be ignored. He has come right back to being one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. If we exclude the anomaly that was the Saints game, Rodgers has thrown 8 touchdown passes, rushed for 1 and thrown 0 interceptions, and do not forget, Green Bay has won the last 3 games by an average of 10 points. Aaron Jones has also been on fire for Green Bay with 5 touchdowns in 3 games. The team overall is performing well on both sides of the ball. The defence is allowing only 209.5 passing yards a game, and the offense is producing 44.4% of third downs, good for 7th in the NFL.

If we turn our attention to the Bengals, their 3-1 record is a bit skewed, and I believe this has influenced the line. The Public is all in on the Bengals but when you look at their wins, it really is not that impressive. Their 3 wins come from a combined opponent record of 2-10. As well as this, they lost to a poor Chicago Bears Squad, as well as barely escaping Jacksonville with a 24-21 victory. The Bengals are also facing some injuries that could have an impact on this game. Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie and safety Jessie Bates are both questionable for this matchup.

Some notable betting trends to look at, the Packers are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against opponents with winning records. Cincinnati is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games at home against opponents with a winning record. For me, this game is simple, if you were to tell me that the Packers would only be favoured by 3 in a game against the Bengals before the season, I would not have believed you. The Saints game is still in many peoples mind but needs to be forgotten, this isn’t the same Packers team that it was in week 1. Rodgers, as of now, is in a different class than Burrow and should have no issues moving the ball down the field on this Bengals defence.

Take the Packers in this one, to win by more than a field goal.
