Green Bay Packers vs Arizona Cardinals: Heavyweights Faceoff in Thursday Night Football

Green Bay Packers vs Arizona Cardinals

Dave Covers Spreads, NFL Preview and Breakdown

The perfect 7-0 Cardinals have looked amazing so far this season. They will face arguably their toughest challenge yet as they play host to Aaron Rodgers and the Packers on TNF.

Key Betting Trends:

  • Under is 5-0 in Packers last 5 games as an underdog
  • Cardinals are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall
  • Under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Arizona

Green Bay Packers Breakdown:

If you take away the week 1 game vs the Saints, the packers are 6-0. They have looked really good despite flying under the radar. This season they Packers are 18th in the league in passes yards per game and 19th in rushing. So nothing about those numbers is that amazing. Their defence is solid allowing just 20.9 points per game.

Maybe not the MVP we saw last season but Aaron Rodgers is still great. So fare he has thrown for 1,710 yards in 151 completions. As well as throwing 15 touchdowns. Notable Aaron Jones has rushed for 404 yards in 89 carries as well getting himself two touchdowns.

A big concern for this one is wide receiver Davante Adams being places on the Covid list making his status uncertain for this matchup.

*note: Allen Lazard also placed on Covid-19 reserve list

Arizona Cardinals Breakdown:

Arizona has been one of the best teams to watch this year, and for good reason, they are averaging over 30 points per game and allowing just 16.3.

Kyler Murray should have no issue picking apart this Green Bay defence that ranks 24th in DVOA defence. James Connor and Chase Edmonds look great and the addition of Zach Ertz just gives Kyler another red zone target.

Final Thoughts:

Missing some key pieces the Packers will have their hands full against this amazing Cardinals defence. Although both teams have something to prove I am backing the home team in this one. They have the better offence and defence. The Cardinals are a better team right now, expect a good game and the Cardinals to finish on top.
