Dave Covers Spreads, FREE PICK: It’s the New Guys Time

We have so many great NBA games today and already so many great story lines brewing. Stay tuned to my Instagram (@davecoversspreads) to be notified when I drop my weekly blog going over all of it!

For today tho, we have two FREE PICKS in same game parlays for the Philly v Toronto game as well as the Warriors v Denver game. Enjoy!

Philadelphia 76ers v Toronto Raptors

I am loving the Philadelphia vs Toronto matchup tonight. The 76ers dismantled the Raptors in game one securing a 131-111 blowout win at home. Scottie Barnes is ruled out for this game as well as Garry Trent Jr and Thaddeus Young are listed as doubtful. I expect Philly to come out firing in this one and continue their momentum from the first game. Toronto might snag a win over Philly in games 3 or 4 but the Sixers will be pushing to go up 2-0 in this series before heading to Toronto.

A big story line of game one was Maxey who finished with 38 points on 66.7% FG. This isn’t the first time Maxey has exploded this season either. In fact, Maxey has scored at least 20 points in 4 of his last 5 games. He has really become the third guy for Philly and you should continue to see him get plenty of shots.

This leads us to our same game parlay. I am taking Philly to win and Maxey to at least put up 15. Good luck all!

FREE PICK: Philadelphia 76ers ML / Maxey 15+ Points (1 Unit)

Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets

Next we are looking at the matchup between the Warriors and Nuggets. This is similar to the Philadelphia game were in the Warriors completely dismantled this Denver team in game one. The truth is the Nuggets just don’t have enough playoff power to compete in this series without Porter and Murray. So in saying that the Warriors should make pretty quick work of this Denver team again today.

Steph Curry came off the bench for game 1 as he is nursing a foot injury and he didn’t look 100%. Just having him on the floor makes such a big impact for defenses that it’s okay he’s not at his peak. It may matter for future series but for this one the Warriors should be looking to slowly get him back to full number of shots and time. You can expect to see a lot of Jordan Poole for this series, a front runner for most improved. Poole can score at any level and is shooting the ball really well. He has scored at least 20 points in 17 of his last 19 games!

I am loving Poole and the Warriors to get the job done again here in game 2.

FREE PICK: Warriors ML / Poole 15+ points (1 Unit)
