Maybe the worst team in the NFL, now without their starting QB, takes on the new look Bengals. The spread is currently sitting at -10.5 can Burrow and the Bengals cover that number? Here is my prediction and free pick.

Key Betting Trends:

  • Under is 6-1 in Bengals last 7 games vs a team with a losing record
  • Jets are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games

Cincinnati Bengals Breakdown:

The Bengals have been one of the most fascinating teams to watch so far this season. The Bengals have won two in a row, while also winning four of their last five. The only loss in that span was to Green Bay, in an overtime game that the Bengals had plenty of opportunities to win. With both a top ten offense and top ten defense, the sky is the limit for where this young team can go.

Joe Burrow has looked great, and reports have outlined his true leadership ability. The Bengals were really noticed after they knocked off Lamar Jackson and the Ravens in a 41-17 blowout win. In that game Burrow threw for 416 yards and 3 touchdowns. There is no concern than the Bengals cannot take care of this Jets team.

The game-changer has been Ja'Marr CHase at wide receiver. After a slow preseason, Chase has been finding himself off to one of the fastest starts ever for a rookie wide receiver. He already has over 700 receiving yards and six touchdowns, nearly double the production of New York's top receiver.

New York Jets Breakdown:

There's no reason to think that the Jets will be able to come away with the win this weekend but home-field advantage could help. Rookie QB Zach Wilson is out with injury so Mike White will be under Centre for the Jets.

The Bengals already have one of the best defenses in the NFL, with a third string QB and weak receiving group the Jets will struggle to score points in this one.

Free Pick:

I am loving this Bengals team and there is no reason to believe the Jets can do anything to put this defense under stress. The points are steep but worth a play. My free pick is looking at the double markets. Expect the Bengals to come out strong and win from the start.
